Don't Panic If Its Not Organic
In the world of health and toxins, you will constantly hear “buy organic”. And although this can be true, there are always exceptions:⠀
⠀
1) Not everything needs to be organic. In fact, there are many foods that dont need to be organic! This usually pertains to thicker skinned fruits and vegetables like bananas, onions, pineapple and avocados.⠀

OR focus on less sprayed items noted on @environmentalworkinggroup ‘s clean15 list (swipe and save for later)⠀
⠀
AND supporting local farmers can be another great option as you can find “essentially” organic foods without the organic certification annnnnd the organic price tag 🤑⠀
⠀
2) Conventional, non-organic whole foods are still healthier than “organic” junk foods. So if you can’t afford or comprehend organic right now, start by keeping it simple and focus on the transition from packaged foods to whole foods. This will drastically lower your toxic burden (essentially giving you the same effect as organic foods would). These whole foods will also give your body the essential vitamins, minerals and fiber it needs to properly eliminate and detox toxins. ⠀
⠀
3) It is more expensive. As the demand for organic increases and it becomes more common, prices are improving but if you need to focus your dollars, focus where it’s needed most. ⠀
⠀
Try to buy these items organic when possible:⠀
- milk, cheese and butter⠀
- beef, pork and poultry, especially fattier items (fat holds toxins)⠀
- oats, wheat and quinoa⠀
- tea and coffee⠀
- common GMO foods such as corn, papaya, squash, soy, sugar, tomatoes and potatoes.⠀
- heavily sprayed produce items, use the dirty dozen list (swipe and save image for reference).⠀
⠀
4) The stress of always trying to buy organic isn’t good for you either! So if you can’t find organic, can’t afford organic or simply don’t want organic- don’t stress over it. Do your best and leave the rest 🙌🏻⠀
