Get Your Stink On
Let’s talk dirty. ⠀
⠀
Most people try “natural” deodorant for a couple days, start smelling and switch back to an antiperspirant or chemical induced deodorant. ⠀
⠀
If you’re thinking about making a switch here’s a few things to know:⠀
⠀
- that smell is not your natural deodorant failing, it’s your body’s ability to detox the build up and continual exposure of toxins from previous deodorants⠀
- additional sweat is normal during this process as your sweat glands may overcompensate from being plugged⠀
- once you’re over this detox phase you should recover back to normal⠀
- this phase usually lasts 2-4 weeks with a peak in sweat and smell around the 2 week mark⠀
- during this time you can apply natural deodorant often and use charcoal soap, tea tree oil, castile soap, wipes or soap bars to cleanse and balance bacteria⠀
- natural deodorants are all different and react differently to each individual. If you try one that doesn’t work, please keep trying!⠀
- if your still struggling with natural deodorants and you’ve tried various kinds, you may need to look at your diet 🙋🏼♀️- I know someone who can help with that. ⠀
⠀
Why you shouldn’t use antiperspirant deodorants:⠀
- they block our body’s natural detoxifying process which means you can’t eliminate and excrete toxins⠀
- they contain aluminum, parabens, fragrance and other harmful chemicals that are absorbed by your body and lymphatic system⠀
- they increase your risk of cancer, in particular breast cancer as it can clog your lymph nodes under the arm with carcinogens and toxins. Need I say more? 🤷🏼♀️⠀
